Education
For all parents the choice of the right school, making sure that there is the right support within the school, and knowing how to approach any problems with the school are some of the most important issues you will deal with for your child(ren). Most of the time this will be something that you can resolve direct with the school to make sure that the school are aware of any concerns and can deal with these.
Occasionally however things go wrong. If you are unhappy with your child’s school, you have you moved into Kent to find your child has been placed in a school which you did not expect, or your child has not succeeded in achieving their expected grades in the 11 plus, then we can advise on appeals against Governing Bodies or Selection Committees.
If your child has or may have additional needs, there is sometimes a concern that those needs are not being properly met by either their school or the Local Authority. Whether you need advice on:
- applying for, obtaining or changing a Statement of Special Educational Needs
- changing the school at which your child attends
- appeals to the Special Educational Needs and Disability Tribunal (SENDIST)
- the local authority’s obligation to pay for your child’s transport to and from school
then we can help.
